Using Your Personal Insurance

Your personal auto insurance may cover rental cars. Before relying on your own coverage:

  • Check with your insurance provider about rental car coverage
  • Understand your policy's deductible and limits
  • Note that filing a claim may affect your personal premiums
  • Some policies only cover domestic rentals

Many credit cards also offer rental car coverage as a benefit. However, credit card coverage is typically secondary to your personal auto insurance and may have restrictions.

Common Questions

Yes, you can upgrade at any time by contacting our support team. The new rate will apply to the remaining days of your rental. You cannot downgrade once the rental has started.
You must select at least the Basic protection plan. We require all renters to have minimum liability coverage. If you have comprehensive personal insurance, Basic may be sufficient.
Most claims are processed within 5-7 business days. Complex claims involving third parties or investigations may take longer. We'll keep you updated throughout the process.
Yes, the deductible applies per incident. If you have multiple incidents during one rental, each would have its own deductible (unless you have Full protection with zero deductible).
